CHAPTER SUMMARY:
Lucas is stuck. He’s haunted by a kiss. He just received a very mysterious phone call. He’s completely shut out by Sadie.
When his efforts to reconnect with Sadie are met with silence, he desperately turns to Zach help, asking him to mend things with Sadie, or at least nudge her in the right direction.
At B-Side, Lucas watches helplessly as Sadie and Zach grow closer. Meanwhile, August offers a cryptic hint about something he thinks might help Lucas in this time of need: Kaleb recorded his own final cassette. The only problem? Lucas doesn’t know where Kaleb left it. Carina helps Lucas finally uncover the tape hidden beneath his own floorboard, right where Carter originally left his tapes. But when Lucas can’t bring himself to press play, it’s Olivia who reminds him that sometimes what really matters is being present in the moment.
On the roof, Olivia reveals that she and her girlfriend are reconciling, and Ryan admits that he wants to go back to school for psychology. But before they can celebrate, Sadie rushes up with horrifying news: Sara thinks Lucas’ mom knows about the abortion and is planning revenge at the boarding home.
In the end, it’s not Lucas’s mom, Marybeth, who shows up at the Bourbon. St. Boarding front door. It’s Officer Lopez, warning that Marybeth is filing an official complaint with the New York Department of Buildings about the conditions at the boarding home, which could threaten BSB’s ability to stay open.
