CHAPTER SUMMARY:
In our Season Two Finale— Lucas finally listens to Kaleb’s tape: one last message full of love, gratitude, and a push toward the future. Encouraged, Lucas joins Carina and his housemates to confront the harsh reality— Bourbon St. Boarding is far from up to code. With the surprise inspection looming, spurred by Marybeth’s latest interference, they’ll need to raise the money to fix it fast, or risk losing their home for good.
The chosen family rallies, launching a last-minute fundraiser at B-Side with August’s help. With everyone’s strengths combined— they manage to pull everything off quickly and successfully. In the heat of it all, Lucas and Zach kiss again. But the night brings more than just celebration… Lucas learns something unexpected: Zach is Carter’s nephew.
Back at home, as the dust settles, Carina confides in Lucas— the house will need more repairs than expected. Even with the fundraiser’s success, they may not be able to save it. But Lucas isn’t backing down. This place gave him a home, and he’s ready to fight for it.
That night, Zach joins Lucas in his room, finally ready to be completely honest with him. He shares the reason he’s kept people, and particularly Lucas, at arm’s length: after testing positive for HIV, his family turned their backs on him. Everyone except Carter. Lucas offers comfort, sharing what he’s learned about found family and facing things together. They decide to take a chance— and go on a real date.
As Season Two ends, Lucas steps into the future with a renewed sense of purpose. But just when he starts to feel heartened by that, the past comes crashing back—Kaleb returns to Bourbon Street Boarding.
