CHAPTER SUMMARY:
With things finally turning around in his new NYC life, Lucas is feeling more hopeful than ever. The night of Lucas’ promotion at B-Side should be a celebration, but instead, it brings an even bigger crisis…
The police show up at Bourbon Street Boarding.
They reveal that Lucas’ parents have reported him for stealing thousands of dollars when he ran away. Though his mom isn’t pressing charges, he’s expected to pay it all back. And that’s something Lucas simply can’t afford. Before he can spiral, Lucas’ housemates immediately band together, offering their own money and support to help him stay right where he is… home.
It’s a powerful reminder that as you get older, family is more than just the blood relatives you’re born to. It’s who stands by you when you need them most.
And that’s good, considering who shows up next…
