CHAPTER SUMMARY:
After his old best friend turned high school bully, Nate (Charlie Besso), shows up at the boarding home seeking a fresh start, Lucas’s sister and housemates encourage him to give Nate a chance. Lucas considers it, preoccupied with why August seems to suddenly not be coming in to B-Side, and how awkward and fragile things are with Zach now that they’ve decided to build their relationship on friendship.
As the boys try to navigate their new normal, Lucas chooses to keep Nate’s return a secret, not wanting to add any complications to things even more.
Meanwhile, the housemates can’t agree on what to do with the newly discovered empty storage room and decide to circle back with pitches. When they leave Lucas and Zach alone on the roof, Zach voices his concern that he and Lucas made a mistake deciding to start as friends. Lucas disagrees, insisting that they just have to stop acting like they don’t know how to be around each other.
Just as their friendship seems to be turning a corner, though, Zach overhears Lucas making dinner plans with Nate, misinterpreting it as something more than it is.
Then Lucas gets a surprising text message from an Unknown Number: “I know what you did…”
